Nicholas Rose is a first-year PhD candidate, working under the supervision of Professor Lisa Pasolli. He completed his BA in History at Carleton University, and his MA in Contemporary International History at the University of Toronto, which was supported by a SSHRC grant.
His work examines Canadian peacekeeping efforts in the former Yugoslavia from 1991 to 1995. Nicholas is broadly interested in international relations history, post-Second World War Canadian politics, and political culture.
Alongside his research, Nicholas is passionate about the local history of Kingston, Ontario. In particular, he is interested in the architecture of Edward Horsey, his direct ancestor and one of the architects of the Kingston Penitentiary.
