ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´

Aaron is an MA student working under the supervision of Dr Daniel Woolf. His academic interests lie in historiography and philosophies of history, particularly in relation to questions of structural bias in the history discipline. Drawing from public debate about the legacy of Henry Dundas, his cognate will follow Dundas’ life and work to place it within British abolition politics. He plans to define different ways in which historians can approach the question of biographical history, and what these methods mean for wider historical knowledge.

Aaron completed his BAH in History at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ in 2026, writing an undergraduate thesis on the Selkirk Settlement with supervision from Dr James Carson. In it, he researched the first years of European settlement at Red River-Winnipeg through the lens of its [largely] Scottish settlers, contrasting settlers’ actions against Hudson’s Bay & North West Company traders as well as emerging Métis groups. Outside of school, Aaron runs a blog () and enjoys sketching, painting miniatures, and reading.
