Summer 2023 - Waiting in Harare

 

I met a few times with the man who was showing me how to go about sneaking things into South Africa, but the only aspect I recall of what we talked about was being given a few pointers on how to determine whether you were being followed. And I suppose what was most important about this was to be able to figure out if someone was tailing you, without that person knowing you’d discovered they were there. Reflections – reflections in storefront windows, especially ones that provided some kind of backward view – these were what you were looking for …
