A day to IGNITE your imagination

Our 2026 event theme was IGNITE and took place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm at Slush Puppie Place and along The Tragically Hip Way.

Visitors stepped into the world of discovery at our interactive science booths, experiencing live demonstrations and engaging experiments led by local researchers and organizations.

From building robots and exploring dinosaurs to learning about space exploration, robots, and much more, there was something to spark curiosity in visitors of all ages.

Main stage shows

Three thrilling science shows sparked curiosity and wowed attendees of all ages.  

10:30 am - Smashing Strawberries: Attendees dove into the fascinating world of genetics as real DNA was extracted from strawberries right before their eyes.
12:00 pm - Phenomenal Physics: This hands-on demonstration explored how comets are created and how sound waves can affect flames, igniting the crowd's imagination! 
2:00 pm - Chemistry Magic Show: A crowd-favourite, this exciting showcase featured substances transforming through colourful reactions, flashes, and fizzes!
