Canadian pianist Janina Fialkowska returns to the Isabel, bringing more than 50 years of performances marked by her distinctive sound and natural musicality. A protégé of Arthur Rubinstein, she is celebrated for her interpretations of Frédéric Chopin and her performances with many of the world’s leading orchestras. Her distinguished career has been recognized with numerous honours, including a JUNO Award and appointment as an Officer of the Order of Canada.
Presented as part of Janina Fialkowska’s 75th birthday tour, this recital features a beautifully curated program of works by Schubert, Liszt, Grieg, and Chopin, culminating in Chopin’s dazzling Scherzo No. 1 in B minor, Op. 20.
