Alexandra

Hi! My name is Alexandra, and I’m a fourth-year Health Sciences student at ��ϳԹ��Դ. I’m originally from Burkina Faso, but I’ve also lived in Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and the United Arab Emirates. I did grade 11 & 12 at a boarding school in Canada! I speak both French and English, and I currently serve as the Lead International Student Ambassador. I love connecting with new students and helping them feel confident as they begin their journey here. Whether you’re looking for tips about student life, academics, or adjusting to Canada, I’m here to support you. Fun fact: I spend 99% of my time watching Youtube, series, and movies!

Deeya

Hi! My name is Deeya and I'm in my fourth year of Life Sciences (Spec.) at Queen's. I've grown up in Mumbai, India, and coming to Queen's was definitely a big transition, but also an extremely rewarding one. I’ve been able to explore my interests both inside and outside the classroom, and be a part of a vibrant, welcoming community. As a Student Ambassador, I’m always happy to chat about academics, transitioning to university life, or just what it’s like living in Kingston. ��ϳԹ��Դ has truly become a second home for me, and I hope to help others find that same sense of belonging.

Hi! My name is ��Բ�é�� Olvera, and I’m studying Biochemistry with a minor in Environmental Studies at ��ϳԹ��Դ. I’m half Mexican and grew up in a multicultural home, which made me love meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I speak English, French, and Spanish, and I’m also learning Italian and Portuguese, so if you speak any of those, we already have something in common! When I’m not in class, I’m part of the ��ϳԹ��Դ Cycling Team and enjoy getting involved in the campus and Kingston community. I’m always excited to help others feel more at home and to share what makes ��ϳԹ��Դ such a special place to study and grow.

Kareem

Hi, my name Kareem! I’m an international student here at ��ϳԹ��Դ, and I’m really excited to be part of the International Student Ambassador team. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to move to a new country and adjust to university life, so I’m here to help make that transition a little easier for others. Whether it’s answering questions, sharing tips, or just chatting over coffee, I love connecting with new people and building community. I’m currently studying Civil Engineering, and when I’m not in class, you can usually find me exploring Kingston, cooking, or hanging out with friends. ��ϳԹ��Դ has become a second home for me, and I hope I can help others feel the same way. If you ever need support—or just someone to talk to—I’m always happy to help.

Udita

Hi! I’m Udita, a third-year Honours Psychology student at ��ϳԹ��Դ with a minor in Employment Relations. I’m deeply interested in the connections between mental health, workplace well-being, and cognitive science. My academic focus includes memory, equity, and organizational behaviour. On campus, I’m actively involved as an International Student Ambassador and contribute to initiatives like ��ϳԹ��Դ Proactive Minds and the ��ϳԹ��Դ Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies. I enjoy being part of diverse, collaborative communities and bringing a creative, people-centered approach to everything I do. I’m fluent in English, Hindi, and Spanish, and love using communication and storytelling to drive connection and impact.

Hi! I’m Raisa Islam, a commerce student at the Smith School of Business. Originally from Bangladesh, I’m passionate about combining creativity with strategy—whether through my work in commerce clubs or by organizing community initiatives. I also work part-time, balancing academics with leadership roles and volunteerism. My interests lie in finance, law, and social impact, and I’m always eager to connect with new people and help them find their place at ��ϳԹ��Դ. As an international student, I’ve found Kingston to be a supportive and welcoming community, and I enjoy helping others transition into university life. Whether it’s navigating course choices, getting involved in clubs, or discovering the best study spots, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned along the way!

Hi! My name is Nourhan Jadallah. I just wrapped up my first year of Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at Queen's! I'm very interested in robotics and technology. Rissa

Hi everyone! My name is Rissa, and I’m a third-year Political Studies major with an International Studies Certificate at ��ϳԹ��Դ. Originally from China, I came to ��ϳԹ��Դ as an international student and have found a strong sense of belonging through campus involvement and community engagement. I’m passionate about promoting inclusivity and helping other international students feel welcomed and supported during their transition to life in Kingston. Outside of academics, I’m involved in several student support programs, including the World Link Program by QUIC and working as a Student Life Monitor at the School of English. I also volunteer regularly in City Hall of Kingston and AMS Food Bank, which has helped me grow personally and professionally. Aryaman

Hi! My name is Aryaman Bhatia. I am ethnically Indian but have lived all my life in the Middle East, having most recently stayed in Dubai for the past eight years. Having been raised in a multicultural environment has given me a deep appreciation of cultures and perceptions. I am currently a Computing student who has a strong passion for technology and always looks forward to learning about the latest technology in the world. Outside of studies, I prefer to stay active by playing badminton and doing theater, where I get to express my creative side. During my free time, you can find me outside for a walk with my dog, enjoying nature and taking some time off. I love balancing my interests in technology and the arts, and I’m always looking for new experiences that help me grow both personally and professionally.

Hi, I’m Avery and I am a fourth year student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program! I am originally from Boston but I am absolutely enjoying my new life in Kingston – it has truly become my home away from home! I am very involved in the community, both in groups through ��ϳԹ��Դ and through external organizations in Kingston. As an international student myself, I have a lot of firsthand experience with the many challenges and successes that come with moving to a new country. Coming to ��ϳԹ��Դ was one of the best things I have ever done, and I would love to share my story and help prospective students understand why this is the school for them!

Pranav

Hey there! I’m Pranav Velpandi, your International Student Ambassador and a third-year Mining Engineering student from South India at ��ϳԹ��Դ. Tamil is my mother tongue and, thanks to family and community ties, I can get around most South Indian languages too. My first year at ��ϳԹ��Դ came alive when I won the Engineering Society Spirit Award for my non-appointed role contributions—proof that passion matters more than title. I also served as an Orientation Week Executive, so if you’re wondering how to navigate through your O-Week experience, I’ve got your back. Now, as Ambassador, I help fellow internationals navigate Canadian academic and social culture, land internships or summer jobs, and plug into student government, clubs, and hobby groups. I’ve co-organized conferences and competitions with our alumni network, and I know Kingston’s coziest cafés and hidden walking trails. Got questions?
