Formerly Professor of Sociology at Norwich University, a Senior U.S. Military College, Dr. Vieira has published research and presented internationally on immigrant soldiers in the Five Eyes countries, conflict interpretation in non鈥憄ermissive environments, women in military service, cadet leadership development, and cross-cultural training for military populations. Her teaching career served generations of enlisted personnel, officers and civilians. She has had former students serve in all branches of the US military, the Australian Defence Force, and other NATO countries鈥 militaries. She is co鈥慳uthor of a forthcoming Springer volume, Immigrants in Military Service 鈥 Comparative Perspectives from the Five Eyes Nations (2027), and previously co鈥慸eveloped cross鈥慶ultural training materials under contract for the U.S. Army J.F.K. Special Warfare Center and School. Her current policy interests include growing the Canadian Forces, community-involved dual鈥憉se infrastructure investment, and improving outcome鈥憁easurement frameworks. She holds a Ph.D. in sociologie from the Universit茅 de Montr茅al, and an M.A. and B.A. from Michigan State University.
