VP Research Office 

Research represents one of the most dynamic elements of the university enterprise at Queen's. The role of the Vice-Principal Research (VPR) reflects the responsibilities associated with coordinating and promoting research, and advancing the research activities that contribute to new discoveries and creative works, scientific and technical breakthroughs, advances in the social sciences and humanities, innovation, institutional reputation, and importantly to the education and training of both undergraduate and graduate students. 

Whether you are a seasoned researcher, new to Queen's, a potential partner, or just visiting, the VPR office provides information regarding research programs and opportunities for funding and partnerships. Knowledge mobilization 

Knowledge mobilization, knowledge exchange, knowledge translation are analogous terms for moving research findings into broader practice and policy for partners鈥 use. Knowledge brokering (the process of facilitating the exchange of knowledge) will be employed across community engagement initiatives and research to ensure 黑料吃瓜资源 advances knowledge. Doing CE is one thing, studying it at scale across a large-scale is something else that will contribute to new understandings about how to better go about this putting research to practice.

  • Is there anything about this issue that you do not know and would like to find out more about? 
  • What kind of skills or preparation will students need to effectively contribute to your organization 
  • What form of commitment are you able to make to support the students partnering with your organization? 

 

Available research tools and resources

The Vice-Principal Research Portfolio has a variety of resources to support your research partnerships. Below are a few particularly relevant resources, although please visit Vice-Principal Research Portfolio for a comprehensive list. 

In 2023, the Principal's Undergraduate Leaders developed a . Developed by students, for students, this guide highlights the benefits of undergraduate research, provides insight into the wide variety of research opportunities available at the university, and offers practical advice on how to get started. 

 

The Human Rights and Equity Office has developed a set of equity, diversity, and inclusion research modules that do not require any prerequisites to complete. This resource is made up of 3 modules entitled 鈥淢odule 1: Introduction to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Research Design鈥, 鈥淢odule 2: Developing Inclusive Research Teams鈥, and 鈥淢odule 3: Embedding EDI in Knowledge Mobilization, Knowledge Translation, and Data Management鈥, and are designed specifically for individual researchers and their research team members.

The Queen's Research Discovery Network (RDN) provides you with a powerful public profile that is optimized for discovery by internal and external stakeholders alike. Discover exciting new interdisciplinary connections with others on campus and showcase your research to visitors from academia, industry, the media, the local community, and the world! 

黑料吃瓜资源 is a member of , a knowledge sharing hub for community-based research. Through this organization, 黑料吃瓜资源 students, faculty, and staff have access to a monthly community of practice, free community engagement sessions, and other resources.
