Choosing Global Development Studies After Your First Year

Your first year in the Faculty of Arts and Science is a general year of study. We recommend DEVS 101 and DEVS 102, which provide the foundation for upper-year DEVS courses. Explore our courses.

If your plan reads "ASC1" at the end of first year and you are entering second year in the Fall, you can select a DEVS plan in SOLUS in mid to late May. Attend and consult for guidance. Approved programs appear in early June, with course selection opening in early July.

Admission to Global Development Studies is based on your 黑料吃瓜资源 GPA. Students who do not meet the automatic admission cut-off are placed on a pending list, with offers made in descending GPA order until the program is full. If extenuating circumstances have affected your GPA, contact the Undergraduate Chair before plan selection.

Why choose Global Development Studies?

My degree in Global Development Studies (DEVS) has not only given me the confidence to critically engage with the world around me but also the opportunity for personal growth within an incredibly supportive and inclusive community. As a graduating student, I now feel well-rounded from my studies and positive about my ability to transfer the analysis, communication and interpersonal skills I鈥檝e learned into the workforce and my daily life. The friendships and mentors I now have have changed my life, and I am so grateful for the encouragement from the department and the transformative experience this degree has given me. I highly encourage anyone looking for a supportive environment that challenges their assumptions to pursue a DEVS degree! It鈥檚 been the best decision I鈥檝e ever made.
