Biography

Emmarie Brown is a PhD candidate in the Department of English Literature and Creative Writing. Her current research explores contemporary experimental life writing texts in junction with academic research-creation theories and methodologies, and she seeks to find, examine, and practice creative ways of (and reasons for) representing the self in writing. She holds a BA in English from the University of Alberta - Augustana (2022), a Certificate in Writing Studies from the University of Alberta - Augustana (2022), and an MA in English from Queen's University (2023). She is a creative diarist, a library lover, a cozy enthusiast, and a collector of postcards and prints.

Research Interests

Life writing (including memoir, diary, and experimental), contemporary literature, Canadian literature, research-creation methodologies, and writing pedagogy.
