Queer Song Circle: Singing for Connection and Wellbeing (Thrive 365)
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Join us over the lunch hour for a welcoming Queer Song Circle focused on joy, connection, and wellbeing. Song circles are community singing groups where participants come together to sing for the experience of connection, not for performance or perfection. No singing experience is required, and participants do not need to know how to read music. All songs will be taught in a call-and-response style, making the session accessible and easy to join.
This session invites participants to experience singing as a shared practice that can support belonging, self-expression, and emotional wellbeing. In a world where queer voices have often been quieted or silenced, gathering together to use and raise our voices can be a meaningful act of connection, community, and care.
All Queen's employees are welcome to attend, including allies.
In this session, participants will:
- Take part in a guided community singing experience
- Explore singing as a tool for joy, connection, and wellbeing
- Learn songs through a call-and-response format
- Connect with colleagues in a supportive and inclusive space
- Reflect on the importance of voice, belonging, and community care
No musical background is needed. Participants are encouraged to come as they are and take part in whatever way feels comfortable.
This Thrive 365 session is offered in partnership with the Queen's University Association for Queer Employees (QUAQE).
