4D Drop-In Career Advising

Date

Monday April 25, 2022
11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Location

Zoom or in person at Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre
  • Got career questions? Join us IN PERSON at the 4 Directions Indigenous Student Centre or on ZOOM for drop-in career advising with a career counsellor. No appointment is required. Please note, as this is a drop-in you may have to wait behind other students who are ahead of you in line. This service is provided to current Queen's students and recent graduates within one year.

    WHAT WE HELP WITH:

    During drop-in advising, you can access a career counsellor to get started with your career questions. The career counsellor will be available to answer your quick questions on topics including:
    • Starting to explore types of work and career opportunities;
    • How to research potential employers and connect with them;
    • Networking basics;
    • Advice on resources to assist with writing a resume, cover letter, CV, or personal statement;
    • Resources to help with interview preparation;
    • Tips and timelines on researching and applying to further education; and
    • Nuts and bolts to help you begin your job search.

    Please note that unfortunately, we cannot review resumes, cover letters, CVs, or personal statements during this time as these require more time than drop-in allows. Book a Cover Letter or Resume Review Appointment if you would like one of these documents reviewed.

    IN-PERSON ADVISING is being held at the 4 Directions Indigenous Student Centre (144-146 Barrie Street).

    ONLINE ADVISING THROUGH ZOOM is available by accessing this(the password is: Career)
  •
  • Feb 28, March 28, April 25, 2022

    When you join the meeting through your ZOOM student account, you will be placed in a virtual lobby as the career counsellor may be meeting with other students for up to 10 minutes at a time. When it is your turn and the counsellor is ready for you, they will admit you into the meeting. We appreciate your patience.
