Title: D-Modules I - Weyl Algebras

Abstract: Similar to the talks on elliptic curves, I will follow a collection of notes on D-Modules, originally by Ho and Minets, that I have been trying to fill the details in on as apart of my masters. We will motivate why we care about D-modules through some history from both physics, solutions to differential equations, and representation theory. As a first talk, we will explore some of the computational ideas within D-modules: The Weyl algebras, filtered algebras, and the singular support of D-modules on the affine line.
