Educational Programmes and School Tours
The Queen's Observatory offers daytime tours for schools, summer camps and educational institutions. We welcome students of all ages, introducing the wonders of the sky to elementary school children, fuelling the curiosity of secondary school students, and expanding the knowledge of university students.
Each hour-long tour explores the night sky using the free software and includes a tour of the Queen's Observatory dome. Students may also have a chance to view the Sun with our specialized solar telescope, weather permitting. Questions are encouraged throughout the tour!
The Earth & The Stars: A Joint Educational Programme
The Queen's Observatory and the Queen's University Miller Museum of Geology offer a joint educational programme: The Earth & The Stars.
Designed around the Grades 4, 6 and 9 science curricula, the programme allows schools to bring one or two classes at a time, with each class spending an hour at each institution.
