Our undergraduate programs enable students to develop their passion for Sociology, build a range of skills for analyzing the social world, and engage with pressing social issues and complex problems.
Our students build strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills while developing curiosity about a wide range of topics such as professions, the criminal justice system, the law, the impacts of AI and social media, consumerism, religion, migration, gender, sexualities, race, disability, among many others.
Many of our students participate in international exchange opportunities, and our graduates go on to careers in law, public policy, education, research, marketing, communications, media, human rights, and community development.

Choosing Sociology After Your First Year
Your first year in the Faculty of Arts and Science is a general year of study. We recommend students register for both SOCY 100 and SOCY 101 to build the required foundation for upper-year SOCY courses. Explore our courses.
If your plan reads "ASC1" at the end of first year and you are entering second year in the Fall, you can select a SOCY plan in SOLUS in mid to late May. Attend and consult for guidance. Approved programs appear in early June, with course selection opening in early July.
Admission to Sociology is based on your 黑料吃瓜资源 GPA. Students who do not meet the automatic admission cut-off are placed on a pending list, with offers made in descending GPA order until the program is full. If extenuating circumstances have affected your GPA, contact the Undergraduate Chair before plan selection.
