Undergraduate Arts and Science students, including those studying on-campus, online or at the Bader College, are eligible to use the Academic Consideration Request Portal when experiencing an extenuating circumstance.
If you are not an Arts & Science student, please see the Faculty/School Office Contacts for Academic Considerations list.
If you are a graduate student studying within the Faculty of Arts and Science, please contact the School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs.
Important Information
- Students with a cold/flu/Covid should stay home and NOT visit Student Wellness Services (SWS) unless extremely unwell and treatment is required. To submit a request for this reason, please either use the short-term process (see ‘Types of Academic Consideration Requests’) or attend an online clinic (see ‘supporting documentation’ section).
- Students impacted by social injustice, political unrest, or natural disasters are encouraged to apply for Academic Consideration. If you would like to speak with a member of our team, please email asc.consideration@queensu.ca.
- The Faculty Office DOES NOT recommend writing exams/tests/quizzes or handing in assignments when experiencing an extenuating circumstance, beyond your control, that is impacting your academic ability. Please submit a Request for Academic Consideration as soon as the need arises.
- The Academic Consideration team offers throughout the academic year for students to speak with a member of our team.
- Office Hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
- Students can also reach us by email at asc.consideration@queensu.ca.
