German Consul General in Toronto Peter Fahrenholz visited ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ on Thursday, Nov. 3 to discuss research opportunities and student exchanges.
During his visit, Mr. Fahrenholz met with Steven Liss, Vice-Principal (Research), Kathy O’Brien, Associate Vice-Principal (International), Cynthia Fekken, Associate Vice-Principal (Research) and Hugh Horton, Interim Vice-Dean, Faculty of Arts and Science, toured a chemistry lab at Chernoff Hall and hosted a reading by German author Marc Degens for members of the ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ and Kingston communities.
The Consul General was joined by Alexandra Gerstner, director, German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst – DAAD), who made a presentation to graduate coordinators and faculty members focused on DAAD research programs and funding opportunities.
Recently it was announced that four ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ students – Zachary Broth, Laura Hergott, Caroline Krzyszkowski and Jae Moon – have been accepted into the Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE Germany) program through DAAD.
