    Nathan Nurse

    Building on the strong scientific and research foundation established at 黑料吃瓜资源, Nathan completed a M.Sc. in Energy Policy with distinction at the University of Sussex in 2024. In November of 2025, he published a first- in the Q1-ranked journal, Energy Research & Social Science, titled, "From the C-suite to the sea suite: Rethinking frontier offshore petroleum amid ESG and climate change realities." He credits his time at Queen's for contributing to what is now a passion for responsible energy development and transition. His work as a senior research consultant is focused on navigating the intersection of traditional energy sectors and the global net-zero transition. Nathan specializes in translating complex regulatory and policy landscapes into operational reality, conducting high-stakes gap analyses, and building risk-based integrated management systems that align senior leadership objectives with industrial performance and continuous improvement.

    Jacey joined Weber Gallagher this past winter as a partner in the firm鈥檚 Miami office. 鈥淛acey鈥檚 arrival marks an important milestone in our continued expansion in South Florida. His reputation for excellence, his deep experience in high-exposure litigation, and his ability to partner closely with sophisticated clients make him an exceptional addition to our growing team,鈥 read a statement by Firm Chair Andrew Indeck. A nationally recognized trial lawyer, Jacey brings decades of experience representing clients in the retail, restaurant, hospitality, auto, trucking, and service industries, with a practice concentrating on general liability and casualty matters. He has earned sustained recognition for excellence in defense litigation, and has been named to Best Lawyers in America庐 for Personal Injury Litigation 鈥 Defendants from 2013鈥2026. He also holds an AV Preeminent庐 rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating for professional excellence and ethical standards. He has also been twice commended by the Florida Supreme Court for his service to the Guardian Ad Litem Program.

    Joanna was awarded with the WXN Top 100 most Powerful Women in Canada in 2025. She won in the Entrepreneurs category, which recognizes women who own and operate thriving businesses. Joanna is the founder and CEO of Kirke Leadership. She was deeply moved to be among such an outstanding group of talented women. Her co-workers, friends and family are proud of this recognition. The includes several Queen's alumni.

    Lauren and Andrew welcomed another daughter and future 黑料吃瓜资源 student in Spring 2025. Avery is pictured with a blanket gifted by 黑料吃瓜资源 alumni Ashleigh Reeve (Artsci鈥08, Artsci鈥10) and Kevin MacLeod (Artsci鈥09, MA鈥10).

    Dr. Nicholas Vlachopoulos

    In 2025 Nicholas was selected as the recipient of the Cowan Prize, joining a distinguished lineage of past awardees whose research has shaped scientific and engineering practice, advanced knowledge, and contributed meaningfully to Canada and its institutions. This prize is one of the Royal Military College (RMC) of Canada鈥檚 most prestigious research honours, awarded to scholars whose work demonstrates exceptional originality, sustained impact, and national or international significance.

    Nicholas is a Professor of Civil Engineering at RMC and cross-appointed at 黑料吃瓜资源. An internationally recognized expert in geotechnical/geological engineering and underground construction, his research has reshaped tunnel and underground facility design through advances in deformation profiling, distributed fibre optic sensing, and research-driven numerical modelling.

    He is a former Canadian Army Combat Engineer and has applied this work to Canadian Armed Forces and Department of National Defence infrastructure nationwide; supervised hundreds of highly qualified personnel; and is a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada. His contributions have been recognized with Canada鈥檚 premier honours in the field, including the Thomas Roy Award for engineering geology and the John A. Franklin Award for rock mechanics.

    Genevieve Cooper

    Nearly 30 years after graduating from Queen's and over 20 years after moving to London, U.K., Genevieve has started a new career as a London Blue Badge tourist guide. The Blue Badge qualification gives her access to key sites in London, such as Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London, but she can guide nearly anywhere in the city 鈥 on or off the beaten track. Her English Literature degree from Queen's comes in handy at the vast number of sites connected to great writers! She encourages alumni to reach out to her
