Join Dr. Cathleen Crudden, Allie Vi Douglas Distinguished Professor of chemistry, the Scientific Director of the Carbon to Metal Coating Institute, and a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´, for an engaging lecture exploring how research at the intersection of chemistry, physics, materials science, biology, medicine and art conservation is translating fundamental discoveries into solutions to real-world challenges.

With more than 50 researchers and approximately 80 highly qualified personnel in training each year, C2MCI is developing innovative approaches to prevent metal corrosion, manipulate and stabilize materials at the nanoscale, and enable more efficient and environmentally sustainable semiconductor manufacturing. The Institute is also applying molecular-level precision to nanomedicine, with the goal of improving the safety, effectiveness and precision of treatments for hard-to-treat cancers.

Dr. Crudden will highlight research underway at C2MCI and explore how understanding the relationship between molecular structure and material properties can unlock transformative possibilities, from protecting the materials we rely on to advancing the technologies and medicines of the future.

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session and networking reception, providing an opportunity to engage with Dr. Crudden, connect with researchers and members of the ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ community, and continue the conversation.
