What is Exchange 101? Simply put: in 1.5 hours, IPO staff and student volunteers outline the nuts and bolts of putting together an international Arts and Science experience.

Topics to be discussed include: eligibility requirements, how exchange works, the various types of exchange programs, financing exchange, applying to an exchange program, and the experience of studying abroad itself. Discussion and questions are encouraged.

Did you know: second year Art Sci students applying to go on our exchange program in their third year are given preference in our system? Your third year is the time when most Arts and Science students will have the most flexibility in their degree and where people find the most success transferring back credits. First years are welcome to attend, however, please note that you must be in your second year of study to apply to our exchange programs.

• Wednesday, October 26 from 5:30 – 7:00pm in Kingston Hall, Room 201
• Thursday, November 3 from 5:30 – 7:00pm in Kingston Hall, Room 201
• Monday, November 7 from 5:30 – 7:00pm in Kingston Hall, Room 201

Choosing a program is one of the largest decisions students make in university. It’s important to make an informed choice – but it doesn’t have to stress you out. Majors Night was created to help you ask questions and learn about each Arts and Science program. 

The IPO will also be attending to answer questions you may have about studying abroad as part of your degree. We will also be presenting at 5:30pm!

Deadline for Semester in Shanghai Program Fall 2022

The deadline for the program is 12 noon EST on February 17, 2022.

Queen's Semester in Shanghai is a tailored study abroad program that gives you the freedom to choose from a suite of courses in English, pre-approved for Queen's plans, at Fudan University in Shanghai. The program comprises one six-unit core course, plus three three-unit elective courses.

Fudan is one of the most prestigious universities in Asia (in the 2020 QS Global University Ranking, Fudan University ranks 3rd in China and No. 40 in the world), while Shanghai is home to more than 23 million people, and is the largest city proper in the world.

The exchange application deadline is 4:00pm EST on January 14, 2022.

Please ensure you have completed and submit all relevant supporting documentation. You must submit an external application and an application to the IPO for Killam and OUI exchange programs. Consult the relevant program page for full information.

Applications cannot be saved and can time out.
