A letter to students about the Principal's Review Committee for Responsible Investing
Dear Students,
Dear Students,
We have created a from for student to request funds from the Rector’s Bursary.
Previously, there had been no formal process and students needing support with emergency unexpected costs would send an email to the Rector Office.
A provincial has been called, and election day is on February 27.
Youth voter turnout has historically been very low. There are roughly 30 thousand students at Queen's, and it is important that we use our voice and vote, if eligible.
Queen's has honoured recently retired Associate Vice-Principal Kanonhsyonne (Janice Hill), Ed’99, by naming the Outdoor Indigenous Gathering Space. "Tsi Yakwanahstahsontéhrha – the place where we extend the rafters" is taken from the Haudenosaunee tradition of building good relations and refers to the practice of extending the rafters of the Longhouse to create room for newcomers, allowing the community to thrive.
This #GivingTuesday consider making a donation that will directly impact Queen's students. Fittingly, we just celebrated National Philanthropy Day with a of students shining a light on the generosity and dedication of our donors, volunteers, alumni, and generous community.
Here are three opportunities to support student life on campus:
Queen's students, it's time for you to vote for a brand new group of student leaders and a number of student fees. It's hard to believe that my own election was one year ago. Now as your Rector, I am not involved in facilitating any elections, but I do have a vested interest in making sure you know where to go for information. I hope this helps.
