Student-Led Events

Volunteers and student staff development and implement wellness related events and initiatives with support from professional staff. Email peerwell@queensu.ca if you have questions.

Fresh Food Boxes contain all the fresh produce and other ingredients to prepare a quick, easy and healthy recipe which makes approximately 4 servings. Cost is $5.00 per student.

Food and Community gives students a chance to drop-in and enjoy some freshly made food, connect with other students and meet staff from various Student Affairs departments. Only available May to July. 

Grocery Game Plan covers nutrition basics, how to meal plan and create grocery lists. The session ends with a trip to a grocery store downtown where each student gets a gift card to help purchase food. Cost: $5.00 per student.

Healthy Cooking Sessions give students a chance to learn how to prepare a quick, easy, inexpensive and healthy recipe.  Everyone is welcome, regardless of their skill level in the kitchen. Cost: $10.00 per student.

Mason Jar Meals contain all the ingredients and spices to prepare a quick and easy one pot meal. Cost: free

Students who need additional food resources can book an in-person or virtual 15-minute appointment with professional staff.

Students are invited to drop-in and connect with the Peer Health Educators (PHE) Rest & Relaxation team. This session gives students a chance to unwind and connect with others. Activities, craft supplies and snacks provided.

Students can drop-in to get their own party goer kit and sign-up for a party thrower kit. Each one contains essential harm reduction supplies to help have memorable Homecoming and St. Patrick's Day weekends. Connect with campus resources including the Peer Health Educator Substance Use team, the Campus Observation Room (COR), Southeast Public Health distributing naloxone kits.

Got questions about sex? Students can their questions anonymously and have them answered by panel of sexual health experts. Check out on our Be Well at Queen's Blog. 

Students can register to meet up with other runners for weekly beginner/intermediate runs during the fall and/or winter terms. For students who want to start running, increase their distance, improve their time, and/or find running buddies.

  3. Follow the link in the email to pay your club fee
  4. Attend your rec club events; our runs!

St. John鈥檚 Ambulance (SJA) Therapy Dog, and their handler come to campus once a week throughout the fall and winter terms.
